Las Vegas, NV May 11, 2005 Lasvegas.net now introduces a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) for your home or office.VoIP is the ability to convert voice or fax calls into data packets for transmission over the Internet or other IP-based networks. Unlike traditional phone calls, where the conversation is converted into electronic signals that traverse an elaborate network of switches, in a dedicated circuit that lasts the duration of a call. VoIP works by converting the conversation into packets of data that travel over the Internet or private networks, just like e-mails or Web pages, though voice packets get priority status. The packets get reassembled and converted to sound on the other end of the call.Voice over IP makes long distance calls cheaper by removing some of the access charges required for use of the public telephone network. A user's physical location also becomes irrelevant; Las Vegas lets people choose their area code and possess multiple area codes in different cities that all ring to the same phone.

VoIP also enables Las Vegas's advanced features -- like checking voice mail from a Web page or programming call-forwarding through a web tool.Plans start at $14.99 for home based, and $39.99 for your business. When you purchase a plan, you get the Las Vegas ATA (Analog Telephone Adaptor) free*. The Las Vegas ATA brings traditional telephones to the networked world. It is a handset-to-Ethernet adaptor that interfaces regular analog telephones with IP-based telephony networks. According to an article released by Yahoo News citing In-Stat on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2005 in this article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nf/20050503/tc_nf/34036, the period in which consumers and small business owners will switch to VoIP will be from 2005-2009.

They also say that the migration to VoIP will have it's highest peak somewhere from 2010-2014. Las Vegas residents can take advantage of using new technology through VoIP instead of traditional phones calls.Contact Information:For VoIP information: https://lasvegas.nuvio.com/index02.phpLas Vegas Internet Services: http://www.lasvegas.net.

With high-speed internet access available almost everywhere and VOIP technology, it becomes possible to answer a phone from anywhere. All VOIP phone system features can be accessed from intercom, to dialing out from your system lines and transferring calls. VOIP phones enable transparent communications to and from remote locations.

Some VOIP Phone Systems, like the Avaya IP Office, even allow for Soft Phones that can be loaded onto your PC.

Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP, services are provided for two segments: businesses and consumers. Consumer VoIP is targeted at homes and hence referred to as residential VoIP. As with any other consumer product, the demand for residential VoIP is driven by cost and quality of service.

With more homes taking to the broadband services for entertainment, news and online purchases, voice-based services, almost free, have caused the consumers to switch to the VoIP telephony. The demand is such that according to Frost and Sullivan Research, consumer VoIP is expected to grow 77 times in the next three years, and the market is expected to generate $700 million in revenues by 2007.

The residential VoIP components are ATAs, phones with built-in routers, IP phones and other hardware accessories. Software services are also slowly catching up.

Software providers like Skype have recorded thousands of downloads so far, and the software is free upon registration. At this moment, the residential VoIP market is dominated by hardware-based services.

In the hardware-based service, the market is dominated by ATAs, as they are still cheaper than phones with built-in routers. But with the market zooming, prices of the latter will come down, and it is expected that the standard in the future will be phones with built-in routers and IP phones.

The advantages of residential VoIP over PSTN lines are that the calls to the subscribers of the same service are free or cost almost nothing, and the area codes to which the calls are placed are free and are spread across geography, eliminating the long-distance calls and international calls. Some service providers provide connectivity to GSM networks. The convergence of voice and data enable transmission of voice, video and also synthesis of voice mails.

For homes, the convergence of voice and data through the Internet is an advancement towards flexibility, as communication and computing can happen together..

VOIP or voice over internet phone continues to rise in popularity largely in part to the deeply discounted calling rates and heavy marketing efforts from major VOIP companies such as Vonage and CallVantage, the AT&T VOIP service. In an effort to increase awareness of the pros and cons of VOIP technology, the Best VOIP forums launched officially this Friday. The forums will become the premier source for information on VOIP says Alex Southern, internet entrepreneur and creator of the forums. "When I initially became aware of VOIP phone technology, I immediately went to the most appropriate place to learn more about it?the internet. I went through pages and pages of search results and found plenty of sales pitches from VOIP companies, but had great difficulty finding objective sites that would allow me to learn about VOIP.

I decided to launch the Best VOIP forums as a solution to this problem."With the forum, visitors are able to access to latest up-to-date VOIP news, and can be confident that what they see at the site is unbiased and accurate. Plans for the near future include a discussion board specifically for VOIP reviews to help assist those shopping for a VOIP provider with feedback from others who have experienced the services firsthand. Currently, forums for many VOIP service providers are offered, including Vonage VOIP, Packet8 VOIP, and AT&T VOIP. Forums are also in place to report on SBC VOIP services which will be rolled out extensively this year, as well as Verizon VOIP. A General discussion board allows for answers to basic VOIP questions.

The Best VOIP Forums are located at http://www.BestVoipForums.com.

VoIP is very cost effective as the monthly fee is lower than regular telephone networks. More than that, VoIP also integrate call forwarding and call display, options that are extra charged by the phone companies. Thus more and more people are attracted by this idea and tend to replace their phone lines with VoIP. Before taking such a decision it would be a good idea to keep some things in mind.

You might lose your old number once you switch to VoIP. This is not necessarily to happen, especially if the VoIP provider offers local phone numbers but it would be wiser to check this aspect with both your future VoIP provider and current phone company.

Due to its characteristics, a 911 call from a VoIP connection can't be tracked down and thus the operator won't be able to determine your location if you are unable to speak.

Actually in order to make emergency calls you will have to register your address with your VoIP provider. Therefore it would be best to keep a standard connection in case you ever need to make an emergency call. This drawback could be solved in the future as the protocol undergoes constant development.

Apparently, these drawbacks are no reasons not to switch to VoIP as thousands of people decide to try the Internet miracle. The first step to making your first VoIP call is choosing the right provider for your needs. Most offer by default call display or call waiting and forwarding but the thing you really have to be careful is the fees providers charge for overseas and long-distance calls.

Consider the people you use to call when choosing your provider.

VoIP providers also offer additional phone numbers most of the times. Therefore, you can choose to have numbers in different cities. The advantage of this option is that people living in those cities can call you for the cost of local calls.

Analogue Telephone Adapters or ATA are special devices that allow you to use your standard phone with the VoIP service. Although they can be acquired separately, most of the times ATAs are supplied by your VoIP providers. The basic equipment needed for VoIP calls is an IP phone, a broadband modem and a router.

Computers can be bypassed although they make accessing the VoIP account easier while modems and routers can be incorporated into stand-alone units.

Connecting to a VoIP account is an easy thing. You just have to plug the IP phone into the router and the router into the modem. Also, service calls don't require any preinstalled equipment.

Denver, CO (ContentDesk) February 6,2005 -- Mammoth Networks has announced a fivefold increase in wholesale DSL demand by VoIP providers. The company allows VoIP providers to provision standalone DSL, or DSL without a phone line, enabling VoIP providers to deliver a telephone-like product to their End User.In the last half of 2005, Mammoth signed an increased number of VoIP providers to its wholesale DSL platform. The company cites its ability to deliver a standalone DSL over a private network as the reason for this increased demand. Because standalone DSL enters a home or business on its own telephone pair, VoIP can be delivered without the need for an expensive traditional telephone line."We've embraced standalone DSL, and have given VoIP providers the exact product they need to sell their service," says Brian Worthen, who oversees product development at Mammoth.VoIP, which stands for Voice over Internet Protocol, operates over a broadband internet connection such as DSL. VoIP allows an End User to make and receive calls from a standard phone, which is then plugged into an adapter that sends the phone call over the internet, and ultimately another regular telephone.Mammoth allows VoIP providers to provision standalone DSL loops to its network, allowing the provider to control the process from order to service delivery.

The company then implements a private connection from the End User's VoIP adapter to the VoIP provider's voice gateway, bypassing the internet. Because traffic over the internet is a best effort service, latency can result in a low-quality VoIP connection. Creating private paths allows Mammoth to control the latency for the entire VoIP link, effectively improving the quality of the service."You can save money with Vonage or Packet8, but their services still have a hurdle to overcome - the performance of the internet," Worthen says. "Our VoIP partners can improve the quality of the call by using our network."Worthen stated that there is a trend for users of telephone service to drop their traditional telephone line and go to a VoIP service. This service is typically provided at a lower rate than traditional telephone service.

He refers to VoIP as a disruptive technology, indicating the demand for the product will force the telephone industry to adapt to the new technology or change their business model.Mammoth Networks is an aggregator of data services serving nine Western states. Mammoth enables its Partners by erasing the invisible lines of the telecommunications structure, and leveling the playing field for service providers. The privately-held company is based in Gillette, Wyoming..

In today's world,it seems that almost any topic is open for debate. While I was gathering facts for this article, I was quite surprised to find some of the issues I thought were settled are actually still being openly discussed.

One of the major problems that small business encounters involves telecommunication. They may encounter problems in calling long distance either through domestic or international schemes. Long distance calls, especially, can cost a small business quite an ample sum.

It will depend on what kind of small business you are involved in whether to install long distance scheme or not. Long distance can make your small business successful depending on how you are going to deal with it.

The most competitive in the market is the telecommunication market. In everyday of out living, the rate of the domestic long distance, international long distance and the local are falling. The best way to be successful in your small business in terms of the phone system is the VoIP which stands for Voice over Internet Protocol.

At the present, there are too many advertisements and publicity about the VoIP or the VoIP over Broad band.

Many people say that VoIP is the future of telecommunication. Many declare that it will be the ultimate replacement of already obsolete analog phone calls still existing.

If all these things that have been said are true, how can you have a right decision as an entrepreneur the best thing for you? The very first thing you have to do if you do not have any detail of information about VoIP then educate your self.

Read and gather data that will help you to gain knowledge about VoIP. There are two things that you also need to consider in order for you to avail the best quality of VoIP. First is the level of investment and second, the cost and the quality.

Truthfully, the only difference between you and voip experts is time. If you'll invest a little more time in reading, you'll be that much nearer to expert status when it comes to voip.

To extract the maximum potential of the VoIP, you must invest in internet protocol phones as well as the internet protocol PBX. However, if you don't, then you will be using the IP phone adaptors that enable you to maintain whatever system you already have and also give you the chance to convert theses phone lines to VoIP.

Some businessmen does not want a one hundred percent of VoIP. On the other hand they are enjoying all the benefits from it.

This is the reason why the IP adaptors are very famous at the present time.

In terms of the cost and the quality, it is very clear that before choosing the right phone system for you business you must have first asses what does your business needs and wants.

You should get the best quality of phone system if your business is dealing and making use of phones every time there is a transaction. They are very useful for those business that prospect customers on the phone, giving out information by means of phone and giving a customer support using the phone.

If you are using the phone just for short communications like calling your business partners or agents then you should transfer to those low cost phones in order for you to save more.

On the other hand, if you are just about to start your own small business the VoIP offers a small solution that you can use in your business. It is the use of the VoIP phone cards.

You can use this temporarily and as the time evolves and your business becomes a success, you can always change it to a better system

Despite of which VoIP phone system you prefer for your small business, see to it that you are getting more money that you have spend for the long distance and always remember that the reason for having a good phone system is to express and communicate yourself.

When word gets around about your command of voip facts, others who need to know about voip will start to actively seek you out.
